What are the Beenleigh Family Day Care Coordination Unit’s office hours?

Monday to Friday:   8.30am – 4.00pm

What are the fees for your service?

Each educator operates as an independent educator and provides care in an environment that is unique to the service they provide.  For this reason, each one of our educators independently set their own fees.  Families are required to discuss the cost of care directly with the educator.

What are the hours of care each day?

Each educator sets their own hours and days of work. Please contact the Coordination unit to find an educator to suit your care needs.

What are the child ratios at your service?

An educator may provide care for a maximum of seven (7) children, including their own children- with a maximum of four (4) of those children being under school age.

What qualifications do Family Day Care educators hold?

All registered educators must, at a minimum, be actively working toward a formal qualification of Certificate III in Children’s Service. Educators must also hold current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training, Child Protection, Food Safety training.

Additionally, educators must participate in ongoing professional development annually to ensure their skills and knowledge remain current.

Educators and any other persons over the age of 18years residing at the premises must also hold a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

What is the procedure if my Educator is unavailable?

When your educator is unavailable and care is still required, please contact our office to arrange for an alternate educator.  One of our coordinators will organise for another educator to provide care for your children where possible.

Does my child need to be immunised to attend Family Day Care?

You are required to provide an up-to-date immunisation history statement on enrolment. Children who are not immunised are welcome at each educator’s discretion.

The Child Care Subsidy is also linked to immunisation.

How do I ensure that my child is safe at Family Day Care?

BFDC is committed to ensuring high quality education and care for all children. The coordinators work with the educators and visit them every 3 weeks. These visits are scheduled or unannounced.

Educators are also required to re-register with BFDC annually and undergo a thorough audit in the process.

Educators must also maintain a visitors’ book so that information relating to visits to the educator’s residence are noted and maintained.

Family Day Care works within the National Quality Framework and meets the requirements of the National Law and Regulation. For further information, visit www.acecqa.gov.au
